About

We work for you —
not your supplier.

Strategic Energy Advisors is an independent commercial energy advisory practice based in Connecticut. We help mid-market businesses — manufacturers, healthcare operators, commercial real estate owners, data centers, hotels, and multi-site food and beverage operators — optimize their energy procurement, manage market risk, and deliver verified cost savings.

We are client-paid only. No supplier commissions, no hidden margin, no conflicts. Our fee is tied to verified savings at contract execution. That single structural difference changes everything about the advice you receive.

Why it matters now

Power and gas markets are entering a period of permanent volatility. Electrification, renewable mandates, LNG export growth, data center load expansion, and aging New England pipeline infrastructure are reshaping supply and demand simultaneously. For Connecticut businesses already paying electricity rates 69% above the national average, energy is no longer a back-office utility question — it is a strategic financial decision that demands independent expert management.

The companies that treat energy procurement strategically will carry lower costs, more predictable budgets, and greater commercial resilience than those that don’t. That advantage compounds every year.

Our commitment

We will tell you when the savings aren’t there. When the forward curve says wait, we tell you to wait. When standard service is competitive, we tell you to stay. That kind of honest advice is only possible when your advisor earns from you — not from the supplier who signs your contract.

About the Founder
Jay Goswami
Founder & Managing Partner

Jay brings 25 years of financial markets and energy commodities experience working alongside corporations, traders, and investors to understand how changing fundamentals drive near-term pricing across power and gas markets. Past roles at Argus Media, Energy Aspects, and Rapidan Energy Group.

What he observed repeatedly was a structural gap. The institutional world prices energy with foresight and data. Connecticut’s commercial businesses were paying whatever their utility or broker quoted, with real market intelligence absent, unclaimed tax benefits sitting on the table, and contracts written entirely to suit the seller.

As a former co-founder of a clean-tech startup, Jay has always believed in the intersection of energy markets and sustainability. He started Strategic Energy Advisors on the conviction that we live in a fundamentally different energy world than the one that shaped most businesses’ procurement habits and that the cost of inertia is no longer trivial. SEA was built to close that gap: streamlined procurement, forensic billing review, tax recovery, and demand management, structured as a fee-only, conflict-free fiduciary relationship where the firm’s compensation is tied entirely to verified savings.

The goal isn’t just a lower energy bill. It’s helping Connecticut businesses reduce their carbon footprint, mitigate price risk, and contribute to a more efficient grid, all while keeping more of their operating budget in the black.
